Committee

  1. President
    • The President holds the overall responsibility of the society. The president has the active role of ensuring the aims and objectives of the society are met with help from the committee and its members. Also, the president acts as a chairperson in every meeting making sure every decision is agreed by the committee and outcomes of the meeting is informed to the society members.
  2. Vice President
    • The vice President has the responsibility to assist the president in the running of the society and serve as the acting president in cases when the president is unable to attend events.
  3. General Secretary
    • The General Secretary has the responsibility for the general administration of the society. The secretary is in charge of preparing the minutes of meetings and keeping the society records.
  4. Treasurer
    • He or she has the responsibility of managing the financial accounts of the society. The treasurer is responsible for keeping records of the expenditure of the society and serve as a financial advisor for the society.
  5. Social Secretary
    • The Social Secretary has the responsibility of assisting members of the society in dealing with social events that encompasses the Bruneian Culture (such as National Day) and events that are held in Nottingham (such as Robin Hood Pageant)
  6. IT Officer
    • The IT Officer has the responsibility of maintaining the society’s website. whilst working with Publicity Officer to ensure there is efficient communication between the committee and the members.
  7. Publicity Officer
    • The Publicity has the responsibility of keeping members of the society informed of new information and forthcoming events via newsletter, emails, Facebook and Twitter.
  8. Sports Officer
    • The Sports Officer has the responsibility of encouraging sports activities in the society by arranging regular sports sessions. The sports officer shall also be aware of other sports activities outside of Sheffield and shall consult the committee for participation.
  9. Welfare Officer
    • The Welfare Officer has the responsibility to assist students, especially prospective students, with their welfare in Nottingham such as providing assistance in acquiring accommodation. Also, to serve as a focal point for prospective students of Nottingham.
  10. Male Religious Officer
    • The Male Religious has the responsibility of managing the religious activities of the society. He is responsible for keeping track of the Islamic calendar and shall consult the committee on proposed activities. He is expected to cooperate with the Female Religious Officer during religious events.
  11. Female Religious Officer
    • The Female Religious has the responsibility of managing the religious activities of the society. She is responsible for keeping track of the Islamic calendar and shall consult the committee on proposed activities. She is expected to cooperate with the Male Religious Officer during religious events.
  12. Freshers Representative
    • The Freshers Representative has the responsibility to serve as a voice for their respective year and bring forward any issues during committee meetings.
  13. Trent Representative
    • The Trent Representative has the responsibility to serve as a voice for students from Nottingham Trent University and bring forward any issues during committee meetings.
